We've officially passed the period known as the Dog Days of Summer, but yesterday was National Dog Day, when American attempted to comfort ourselves by posting pictures of our precious pups. Today, we'll deal with the aftermath, plus talk with Harvey J. Kaye and Howie Klein.

As the racial divide in this nation (even among Dems) seems to be growing, I thought today was a good time to pull out a speech from Rev. Dr. William Barber. I spoke with him and about him often last year, after getting to see him speak a few times. We need a good dose of Barber-isms, so get ready. Also, Ted Rall with an update on his run-in with the LAPD that got him fired from the LA Times! And Huffington Post's Ryan Grim on Ferguson police still harassing journalists. Some things never change.
